Random link brought me to Snopes about a currently circulating rumour. Rather than get into the hoax, here's some info:
The rumour claims "for every time this gets shared, ___ will donate....". This does and can happen but ONLY ONLY ONLY if you see "____ shared BUSINESSNAME's status". If Betty-Sue shares John-Bob's status, it doesn't help anyone and the fact that there's no corporate identity tied to it should be your biggest clue that it's fake.
Remember the 90s? "Bill Gates will send you a dollar for every time you forward this email." This is just a variation on that B.S.
